Race for the Cure

Join the Michigan Association of CPAs on Saturday, May 5, 2018 to support the Komen Detroit Race for the Cure®!  This is our fourteenth year as a sponsor, and it’s always a great event that also shows how CPAs can make a difference!

There are several ways you can get involved with this year’s Race:

1. Walk or run with MICPA. Sign up individually, or encourage your friends, family and coworkers to sign up. Sign up with the MICPA team by visiting our Register for the Race web page.

2. Provide us with the name of a friend or loved one who has fought the battle against breast cancer. The person’s name will appear on a pink ribbon provided by the MICPA to “Pink the Town.” Ribbons will line the race route, creating a visual tribute to those affected by breast cancer.

3. Decorate pink ribbons. Help the MICPA “Pink the Town.” Get your firm, friends and colleagues involved to help decorate ribbons in support this great cause. Contact Emily VanMeter for more information at 248.267.3680 or evanmeter@micpa.org

Saving Lives One Race at a Time

For more than a decade the MICPA has been a proud sponsor and supporter of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® event. The MICPA and our friends who volunteer help to set up and facilitate the event, many choose to race/walk as well.

The money raised from the Komen Detroit Race for the Cure® goes to support local breast health education, breast cancer screenings and breast cancer treatment projects, as well as support the Komen Foundation Award and Research Grant Program.

Protection and Prevention

It is important for women to protect themselves against breast and cervical cancer. In 1991, the State of Michigan implemented the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program, offering support to women who do not have access to cancer screening or treatment services.

If you or someone you know does not have adequate health coverage and needs breast or cervical cancer screening services call the number for your area below to find out more.
