MICPA Award Winners, MAF Scholarship, CPA Exam Sample Test and more

MICPA Announces 2016 Award Winners; Includes Accounting Educators, Students
The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants has named the winners of its 2016 annual awards, including educators and students. They were honored on Oct. 5 at the MICPA’s annual Awards Dinner in West Bloomfield. Congratulations goes to:

  • Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education AwardDr. Thomas Weirich, professor in the School of Accounting at Central Michigan University.
  • Accounting Teaching Excellence Award – Dr. Mike Sweeney, Evart McCabe / UPS Memorial Endowed Chair in Economics, Business and Accounting at Hillsdale College.
  • Outstanding High School Teacher Award -- Kathleen Ford, accounting teacher at Stoney Creek High School in Rochester Hills.
  • Outstanding Student Member AwardDaniel Wysocki, of Shelby Township, an accounting student at Oakland University.

MAF Scholarship Application
The Michigan Accountancy Foundation has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships to fifth/graduate year accounting students. The application for 2017 scholarships is now live on the MAF website.

Next CPA Exam Sample Test Now Available
The new sample test for the next version CPA Exam, which launches April 1, 2017, is now available. The updated sample test provides candidates with a preview of exam content as well as the functionality experienced in a Prometric test center. The sample test is compatible with both Macs and PCs, and runs on most major web browsers. READ MORE
