Know the three E’s to Earning your CPA License in Michigan

To sit for the CPA Exam in Michigan, you must complete:
  • 120 semester hours, including a concentration in accounting
To become licensed, you must complete:
  • 150 total semester hours (typically a bachelor's degree plus additional coursework or a master's)

You’ll need to pass all four parts of the Uniform CPA Examination (CPA Exam) within 30 months:

  • Auditing and Attestation (AUD)
  • Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR)
  • Regulation (REG)
  • Discipline Section (Select one):
    • Business Analysis and Reporting (BAR)
    • Information Systems and Controls (ISC)
    • Tax Compliance and Planning (TCP)

You must complete 2,000 hours of qualifying work experience during a timeframe of no less than one year and no more than five. Work experience much be signed off by a licensed CPA.
