The Michigan Department of Treasury is launching an advanced phone system this month to help manage high call volumes to its Individual Income Tax Information line, the Detroit Free Press reports. The upgrade follows increased calls during the 2026 filing season as taxpayers sought assistance with incorrect return amounts and notices of adjustment.
